Preparation for Mothership Stories Society Video Shoot

Based on the initial information about the task, the following equipment was selected.

• 3 Kodak Zi8 video recorders with 2 extra batteries and 2 AC adaptors
• 1 Zoom H2 audio recorder with 1 set of extra batteries
• 2 Sennheiser wireless Microphones with 1 set of extra batteries
• 2 lights with 2 different sets of bulbs (white and yellow)
• 3 tripods
• 1 mini-tripod
• 3 electrical extension cords

Why so much equipment? The main reason is that this is the only opportunity to shoot the interviews; therefore, backup equipment is necessary.

The crew (Helen and I) visited the shooting location, home of Mothership Stories Society’s founder, a day prior to the recording day. With 4 interviewees, 4 locations within the home were identified.

Some of the challenges are too much natural light from outside through the windows, balancing interior lighting, distracting background objects, etc.
